Air France in last week’s schedule update further revised Paris CDG – San Francisco route for summer 2020 season. From 29MAR20, daily AF084/083 service will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER, instead of planned A380. Planned frequency increase from 04MAY20 remains unchanged, with the addition of AF086/087.

AF082/085 operated by 777-300ER instead of -200ER from 29JUN20 to 30AUG20. The 4-class 777-300ER will operate AF086/087 from 04MAY20 to 06SEP20, switching to 3-class -200ER from 07SEP20.

This is a repaint of the PMDG 747-400 Queen of the Skies featuring the Air Bridge Cargo livery and represents the -400ERF Freighter variant freighter (VQ-BFX). The aircraft was originally owned by Air France, but transferred to new ownership in Nov 2009 and still wears an interim ABC livery scheme. Worst part is that now Air France makes you pay to select certain seats (front section seats, emergency seats, etc.) and the price can go from 30 to 100 CHF the seat for 1 leg! Air France should be ashamed to offer such cabins at the same price as new cabins.

1. As of December 2010, the Air France’s fleet operated 25 Boeing B 777-200ER aircrafts, with no additional ones expected to arrive in the near future. They were introduced in the 1980’s as the first wide-bodied craft able to fly long distances. They have the longest range of the Air France fleet, being endowed with powerful engines.
2. To use figures Smith gave in a recent interview, only 51 of the 101 Air France long haul aircraft have the latest lie-flat seating with direct aisle access. This means the 44 Boeing 777’s and the seven Boeing.
